Undocumented Trump Employee Says He Worked Directly for Eric Trump

According to the Washington Post, an immigrant in the country illegally has come forward to detail his work for the Trump Organization, explaining in an interview that he had direct contact with Eric Trump during his 18 years on the job.

Juan Quintero told the Post that he worked as a greenskeeper at the Trump National Golf Club in Hopewell Junction, N.Y., and as a contractor at a private hunting retreat owned and used in part by Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr.

Quintero shared with the news outlet text message exchanges with Eric Trump, and said he met with the president’s son and executive vice president of the Trump Organization to discuss his duties.

Quintero was fired from both jobs earlier this year as part of a widespread purge of undocumented workers who had been employed at the Trump Organization, the Post reported. He is the second undocumented employee to state he worked directly with Eric Trump.

Eric Trump declined to comment to the Post, and Donald Trump Jr. did not respond to requests for comment from the news outlet. The Post reported it is unclear whether the brothers were aware of Quintero’s immigration status.

Quintero shows a text-message thread he was part of with Eric Trump, listed in his contacts as “Erik Boss,” and Jeffrey Ferraro, another Leather Hill Preserve owner listed as “Boss Montaña.”

The company announced in January plans to implement the use of the federal E-Verify program to check prospective hires’ employment eligibility following multiple reports that Trump golf clubs employed immigrants not legally allowed to work in the U.S.

The Post reported earlier this year that about a dozen employees were abruptly fired from Trump National Golf Club in Westchester County, New York, because they were found to be in the country illegally.

The firings came weeks after former employees at the Trump Bedminster property in New Jersey went public with allegations that the Trump Organization helped them and other immigrants in the country illegally obtain and keep employment.
