Trump’s Newest 2020 Campaign Video Might Be His Most Insane Yet

Donald Trump shared an odd movie trailer-like video on Twitter Tuesday afternoon set to music from The Dark Knight Rises.

The video tells the tale of Trump’s ascendancy in the face of foes like Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Rosie O’Donnell, Bryan Cranston, and Amy Schumer.

There’s footage from Trump’s summit with Kim Jong Un, cable news footage of good economic news, and it ends with “TRUMP: THE GREAT VICTORY 2020.”

And yes, the very familiar-sounding music is from the Hans Zimmer score of The Dark Knight Rises, the third film in Christopher Nolan‘s Batman trilogy.

The video begins with the message, “First they ignore you, Then they laugh at you, Then they call you racist.” Trump has used a similar quote in the past, attributing it to Mahatma Gandhi, though there is no evidence Gandhi said it.

The words appear before footage rolls of some of the president’s most prominent critics. Among those featured in the video are former President Obama, Hillary Clinton, former President Bill Clinton, comedians Amy Schumer and Rosie O’Donnell and actor Bryan Cranston.

The video then transitions to a mash-up of footage from Trump’s time in the White House, including meetings with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, a trip to Alabama to meet with tornado victims and campaign events.

“Your vote proved them all wrong,” the video reads.

It closes with an image of a Trump campaign logo and “2020,” suggesting it is in support of the president’s reelection.
