Ivanka Trump Facing Backlash for Attending Cabinet Meeting Alongside British PM Theresa May

Ivanka Trump joined her father in the center stage of world politics as she sat alongside the president during a meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May in London today.

Donald Trump, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, National Security Adviser John Bolton and Ivanka sat down for a roundtable at St James’s Palace where the American delegation was greeted by May and members of her cabinet.

During the second day of the State visit, Trump, his daughter Ivanka and other officials had a breakfast meeting with British business and political leaders including May at St James’ Palace – yards from Buckingham Palace where the Queen threw a glittering state banquet in his honor last night.

In what is one of Ivanka’s most high-profile meetings as part of the White House staff, she also joined the two leaders at a breakfast with Prince Andrew, the Duke of York.

Ivanka, whose official title is an advisor to the president and describes herself as “advisor to POTUS on job creation” on her Instagram account, is the only one of Donald Trump’s children to take up an official position in his administration.

She has previously worked on business issues as part of her White House portfolio, including the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board.

Before joining her father’s administration, Ivanka owned her own company, a clothing label, and worked as a fashion model.

Twitter was confused as to why Ivanka was even in the room to begin with:
