Trump Refers to Barron Trump as ‘Melania’s Son’ in Awkward Moment Then Quickly Corrects Himself
The Trump administration is seeking to ban all non-tobacco flavors of e-cigarettes in the wake of a massive spike in teen vaping and the spread of a mysterious illness that has sickened hundreds of people across the country.
Donald Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that vaping is a problem “especially vaping as it pertains to innocent children.”
Youth vaping has skyrocketed in the past year, driven largely by teenagers becoming drawn to sweet and fruit-flavored e-cigarette pods easily accessible in stores. The FDA has struggled to keep up with regulation.
Federal statistics show a 78 percent increase in e-cigarette use among high school students in just one year.
“We can’t have our youth be so affected,” Trump said. “People are dying with vaping, so we’re looking at it very closely.”
Trump then referred to his own son, but called Barron “Melania’s son” before quickly correcting himself and saying that they had Barron “together.”
Now, considering Trump rarely sees Barron, and it’s been rumored that Barron lives in Maryland with his grandparents, it’s not surprising Trump would forget his son.
Twitter seemed to agree:
He could be excused for not thinking Barron is his son considering how little time they seem to spend together.

"I just met Melanie's son Barron for the first time earlier today and I can tell you he's tremendous, just tremendous, so true, that I can tell you, believe me."

He forgot Barron was his son too. Terrible. Welcome to the Tiffany and Eric club, Barron.

“Melania has a son, together, who is a very beautiful young man…” So Donald IS NOT the father?

Barron, this is your lucky day. Trump is NOT the father!

Trump indicates that his drive against vaping came at the behest of Melania. He then describes his son Barron in a very odd way.
"That's how the First Lady involved. She's got a son — together — that's a beautiful young man, & she feels very very strongly about it." pic.twitter.com/s5wNzUCSmj
