Watch Trump Desperately Struggle to Read the Teleprompter During Speech at HBCU Conference

Something is wrong with the president.

Donald Trump gave remarks to the 2019 National Historically Black Colleges and Universities Week Conference in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, and he seemed to have some difficult reading from the teleprompter.

In Trump’s speech he dismissed any sign of a looming recession, and suggested warnings of a potential recession were being circulated by his critics to diminish his re-election chances. “They were hoping for a recession,” Trump said, adding that he expects the stock market to hit a new record in the near future.

Trump appeared anxious to confront the eventual Democratic presidential nominee, saying he looked forward to touting his economic successes on the debate stage.

But Trump had trouble reading the teleprompter, similar to the problems he had yesterday when he gave a statement.

On Monday Trump awarded the Medal of Valor to six police officers who responded to the August mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio.
