Melania Claims the White House is the ‘President’s House’ — Not the ‘People’s House’

First Lady Melania Trump shared photos recently of the newly renovated White House Bowling Alley, in which she hosted the children of members of her U.S. Secret Service detail for a little game time.

The bowling alley, first installed and used in 1973 during President Richard Nixon’s administration, has been used by presidents and their friends and families since then and was last renovated in 1994 during former President Bill Clinton’s term.

That renovation was a major departure from the original design, and the First Lady led the effort to restore the original wooden lane, while also updating electrical wiring, mechanics and the interior design.

The cost of the renovation was funded by the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America, according to the White House.

Some users on Twitter noticed that bowling balls said “President’s House” which is odd considering historically the White House is referred to as the “People’s House,” since we, the people, pay for the house with our taxes.
