One gets tired of dealing with Republicans and Right-Wing media constantly lashing out at Democrats, media, and anyone but them, actually. It hurts the nation with respect to dividing us needlessly, and impacts policy that could be improved. But occasionally one sees stuff that isn’t even that benign, occasionally one sees something that really does put people at risk by dangerously misleading people.

Today it was Rush Limbaugh’s turn, our most recent Medal of Freedom winner (a medal for “service” to our nation), to go well beyond the line as to what is acceptable, beyond the line as to obnoxious and misleading, all the way to dangerous and savagely cynical.

Right-wing talk radio host Rush Limbaugh drew fury after suggesting that the media is “gleeful” about the coronavirus pandemic out of hope that it will damage President Donald Trump — and his suggestion that the virus isn’t really that bad.

Even dreadfully awful former right-wing radio hosts thought Rush was shameful.

As we have said here on the blog before, a pandemic is extremely difficult to predict. One cannot “control” it. The goal is to use the best scientific evidence and best-practices to contain it as much as possible, while also acknowledging to the public that a viruses can be unpreditable, and thus remain vigilant and respect the damage it can do.

We covered earlier that Don Jr. has already told people that he worries that his father’s administration will screw the response up, thereby hurting the economy.

Who here doesn’t think that Don Jr. and “Don” called down to Rush in Florida and told him to start yelling into microphones that this is no big deal, ignore the damn socialist media types, get to the store and buy some shit! Preferably red hats and Trump paraphernalia, or a big pick-up to piss off socialist greenies!

No one is saying that anyone need overreact. You simply do what the CDC suggests, by listening to the “news” (the trustworthy type) and hearing the CDC reports. That’s all. That’s all anyone need do to help contain this – listen to the professionals.

For Rush to pretend he has a role in this in order to protect his buddy, and bring about “suspicion” with respect to those reports is dangerous. Because viruses are unpredictable, and there may come a point things get real dangerous, and now conservatives still will not believe them. They will think it’s a dangerous plot. Propaganda to make Russia proud.

Damn him and them. Medal of Freedom winner says the pandemic is the media trying to hurt Trump.
