Trump Busy Congratulating Himself and Thanking Himself for Being Himself

Who the hell talks like this?

“It was a great and triumphant evening for our Country,” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning. “Thank you for all of the nice remarks and wonderful reviews of my State of the Union Speech. It was my great honor to have done it!”

Shorter version: “Thank you for me. It is my honor to be me.”

He was going to say it no matter what, but after breaking every norm associated with the State of the Union and seeing his fans and lapdogs in congress lap it up makes it damned hard to take.

We are not the only people disgusted by his vanity and self-obsession.

Here is the problem:

I will be writing more on the above today and our descent into fascism, because we’re accelerating, and I don’t think most people have time to completely absorb the danger of what we face. What we have done is absorbed the fact that we couldn’t possibly hate this man more.

Dictatorships are built upon lies.

The dynamic we’re up against is that half the nation will cover whatever he does, while half the nation is disgusted by all he does. I know which side I prefer:

Some gallows humor escaped, as it did set-in with some people that we’re up against a monster who has changed everything.

It is laughable that Trump will talk about himself with an arrogance that would get him run out of the average church gathering, the same people that worship him as exalted. It is not enjoyable seeing all of Adam Schiff and the Democrats’ work to bring this man to justice flushed down the toilet over five days, from Friday’s vote to not hear any evidence, to Trump’s self-praising speech, his recklessness, the acquittal later today, and in the end, Trump at his most powerful. Remarkably, he also enjoys the highest approval ratings of his administration.

Pay no attention to the hoopla and rah rah stuff on other progressive websites. We are in a bad spot right now, with Trump rising and untethered. This is dead serious and unless some of this gets turned around, Trump will win again this fall.

It is time to get serious in punching back.

The good news is that we can turn this around. We would not want the election today, and that is a blessing. We have eight months to shut down the self-satisfied and self-promoting carnival barking dictator. I suggest we get working and think seriously about who actually has a chance to beat Trump.

Peace, y’all
