Valentine’s Day Trump Dates his TRUE LOVE – Golfing: Trysts Cost Taxpayers $133 Million

But don't worry, Trump doesn't take a salary.

On this Valentine’s day, Trump winged off to Florida to visit his resort in Mar-a-Lago, where he can profit off being president at obscene levels and golf. Trump’s golf tab is now at $133 million or what amounts to three-hundred and thirty-four years of presidential salary, which he so famously forgoes*, as the Trumpers often tell us.

*But which we cannot confirm because we cannot see his taxes.

The irony is that this is the same man who ridiculed Obama for golfing at all (at a much more restrained rate than Trump set even in Trump’s first year.)

“Yet after three years in office, Trump has spent two-and-a-half times as many days on a golf course as Obama had done at the same point in his first term. If Trump plays golf both Saturday and Sunday, he will have played 248 times. Obama by his 1,123rd day in office had played 92 times,” HuffPost reported.

“And because Trump insists on playing at courses he owns, the cost to taxpayers has been nearly four times as high as it was for Obama,” the report noted. “What’s more, Trump’s insistence on playing at courses he owns and profits from has put at least a few million taxpayer dollars into Trump’s cash registers in the form of hotel room and restaurant charges for the White House staff and Secret Service agents who accompany him.”

I cannot imagine what the Secret Service agents think as they see Trump luxuriate over and over, charging the government the fees for him to stay at clubs he owns. Or, what the secret service thinks every time they have to submit expense sheets with checks to be written directly to the club’s owner, Trump.

One would think it would be too embarrassing. I would be just humiliated, charging the tax payer for my security to stay at my place. Nope, couldn’t do it.

On the other hand, we’re talking about a person who mocked Obama’s golfing and swore that he would never golf, would never leave the White House having to work wo much:

Coronavirus?

Good thing we don’t have any problems right now.

And this one, my favorite:

$133 million is a lot of money. That money could’ve carried years of cancer research, sent tens of thousands of kids to college, or built a massive bridge that would last 200 years.

But we’re supposed to take heart that Trump doesn’t take a salary.

Peace, y’all
