Melania’s Two Ridiculously Robotic Glamour-Puss PSAs Are Making People Very Angry, ‘She Doesn’t Care!’

Melania Trump continues to prove that she really doesn’t care about any Americans. She so obviously seems to care too deeply about herself and probably her son to have any other real priorities. In short, she just seems to go through the motions, and I often wonder why she even bothers.

Melania has put out two tweets with filmed recommendations and messages in the last two days. The PSA this morning included two pieces of advice that I would confidently say that every person in the world with access to any kind of news or government statements has heard already. In the United States, I am guessing that over 99% of the population has heard the two “public service announcements cover” today.

Wash your hands a lot.

No shaking hands, or hugging because that spreads the disease.

That’s it. Here, look for yourself:

She is truly gifted. She has a remarkable ability to speak words that clearly convey she doesn’t give a shit. She is not trying to get a message to you. In my opinion, she cares about going through the motions to fulfill a “duty” people expect a first lady to do. It is like she checks off a needed step, like pilots who have start-up checks.

The “message” was just so banal! We’re a little beyond that, Melania! We’re into social distancing, shelter in place, buy needed XYZ etc etc.

So, thanks, that was completely invaluable.

She sent out a PSA yesterday (March 19th) without even a hint of empathy, in which she assured us that someday we’ll all go back to going to church and being in crowds, that this will end. Except for the poor souls who don’t make it through the disease, whom she didn’t recognize at all in her “we will all …” (P.S. God Bless, all, with love for those who succumb.)

Okay. IF someone is going to give such an obvious message, one better convey it with deep love and concern for citizens, and some sort of sign that concerning this, she is just “one of us,” since we’re all in it together. She tried so very hard, even said the words, and yet – again – it was said with a robotic tone that instead of conveying deep empathy, she seemed to just want to get the filmed take right, to be done.

I could easily put 100 tweets responding to each message but it’s far easier for you and I to summarize the comments as half believing that Melania just performed an act of God – indeed those responses have a lot of wishes for God to be with her (Evangelicals).

And then there is the other half. Many simply point out that she doesn’t care, that she sounds like she couldn’t care less. Some remind her about her husbands lies concerning the virus, and her husband’s vicious twitter attacks on insufficiently loyal people, the people that ask questions, or complain that he lied.

It is just typical Melania, not the least bit interested in actually doing something that is truly helpful. Compare her messages or activities to Michelle, and Laura Bush. I loved both Michelle and Laura. I thought it was cool that Laura – who had been a librarian – really focused on literacy, for both kids and even adults struggling. She emphasized that adult illiteracy was a much bigger problem than people know. It was awesome. And obviously, Michelle just committed everything she had to exercise and healthy eating for kids, a desperately needed message, especially here in the south.

Two women, two parties, who genuinely enjoyed helping and wanted to do the things they did.

Melania would be far better off having announced early that she is not comfortable with public speaking and was not going to put herself or her child out for public purposes. If she said she wanted to concentrate on her family and personal things. I would respect that decision 100% and not question it. It is her right to remain completely private.

But deciding to just go through the motions, with so little care about her “Be Best” thing … she won’t even say “Donald should do less attacking” or something!

Two PSAs conveying nothing we did not easily know. It was said robotically. She did not acknowledge that some will not make it and to be so careful. (Up to hundreds of thousands could pass. It shouldn’t be ignored.) I truly don’t even know why she does these. She doesn’t care, and doesn’t bother to ask “do you?” She already told us she doesn’t care.

Here are a few twitter thoughts, just for flavor:
