On Exact Same Day Trump Tweets About ‘Miracle Drug,’ Man Dies From Ingesting Same Substance

Alright. This is a damned angry column, and maybe be warned right now that this is going to fly with language and disdain.

As the title says, on the same day that Trump touted the new drug chloroquine phosphate treatment like it was a miracle cure (and it might well have been for that ONE man), a husband dies promptly after taking it and his wife in critical condition because they took the medicine wrongly. This incident has not been tweeted with a warning to have a doctor made the decision when very sick, jackass. Per Rawstory, it seems 50% benefit at this point:

While one man says that it helped him, another is dead.

THIS is exactly what I have been talking about since Trump started talking about it a week ago. It is not because I am a genius whatsoever, or a doctor (though I have research lab experience), I am simply applying common sense.

“Given the uncertainty around COVID-19, we understand that people are trying to find new ways to prevent or treat this virus, but self-medicating is not the way to do so,” said Dr. Daniel Brooks, who works at Banner’s Poison and Drug Information Center as medical director. “The last thing that we want right now is to inundate our emergency departments with patients who believe they found a vague and risky solution that could potentially jeopardize their health.”

I said the same thing without the scientific approach but the “common sense” approach that all of you know.

A president should not be touting a drug that hasn’t been sufficiently tested. People who don’t need it demand it, and are drying up supply. And, people think that they don’t have to worry about it because there’s a cure. It also has potentially lethal side effects that I just today wrote about, which are a huge concern.

This is how Trump has blood on his hands. THIS. The experts would tell people that it must be studied in a fast track study. It could be very dangerous, do not use it unless given by a physician, we don’t know all it can do. They would likely not even put the name out.

The man who died was in his 60s and his wife is in critical condition after both of them ingested chloroquine phosphate. The chemical is an additive frequently used to clean fish tanks, though it is unclear if that’s how they obtained it. While they may sound the same, chloroquine is different from hydroxychloroquine as the latter is a less toxic derivative of chloroquine.

The fact that it is not the exact same chemical, just very closely related, makes the story even worse. That is how ridiculous people can be because they believe Trump and are terrified. But Trump needs that damn stock market up and be seen as a hero because he “personally pushed it.”

He has blood on his hands in many ways but this is very very direct. So direct, that we wrote about the tweet and these exact impacts this morning and a very large number of you read it, and common sense people here knew it, too.
