Alex Jones Spotted Trying to Catch Covid by Shaking Hands with Dumb Trump Supporters Protesting Stay-at-Home Orders

Anyone who has ever watched Nat Geo, or even lived in a rural area with a dog that chases everything he can chase, knows that watching evolution in action can be grisly, and not for someone with a weak stomach. Mother nature can actually be pretty brutal, which is why we’re walking around writing on computers instead of grunting and living in caves. But we live with reality on reality’s terms, not ours, and when one sees evolution working in a meaningful way, it ought to be noted:

You will note the downside to this behavior. Every person, dumb or smart, that catches the disease, increases the likelihood that we will catch the disease, while also inviting that RNA to continue to replicate and get more efficient, perhaps mutate into something increasingly deadly.

But that is why nature provided us a tool against such environmental conditions. Adaptation is just as important as natural selection. Those of us who prefer to not die before fifty can force Alex Jones and his followers to serve jail time, or – really hurt them and curb behaviors, pay a giant fine.

It is bad enough that we have to fight the political trolls on Fox. And yesterday we noted just how dangerously Laura Ingraham was flirting with open anti-semitism and conspiracy theory. Alex Jones doesn’t deserve a place anywhere in respectable society, and we would have thought that the Sandy Hook lawsuit proved it. But it makes sense that the same rubes who will listen to Alex Jones are the type who will follow Trump and protest public health rules.

It is also highly ironic – in my mind – that the people who have long looked for a global conspiracy finally run into a situation that may very well be a global conspiracy (Putin and criminal authoritarians manipulating and owning an American president), and yet they support the person who seems fairly obviously to be the powerful player right in the middle of it!

These people have waited decades to be able to prove that global elites are trying to enslave and kill them. When it finally comes around, there they are, on the steps of the Texas capital, fighting for the right to be taken out first.

Nature, man. Ugly process. Sometimes beautiful results. We’re in the process right now. Too soon to think about results. Took a lot of species going extinct to make a rose.
