I am sensing a pattern here, and maybe you can help me detect whether there exists a strategy at work, or whether this is all my imagination. But here is Melania’s tweet from yesterday:

And then she decided to extend herself and put this one out today. Do notice that she even managed to attach some “extras” here that are oh so helpful:

At this point, I wonder why she even f-ing bothers. Seriously. I do acknowledge that she has a certain amount of professional experience in covering up to prevent the spread of disease, but … why does she even other?

I saw her tweet from yesterday and figured, “Well, that is – I suppose – what a Third Lady sees as her job, so can’t blame her.” And then I see today’s, and it is the same thing, with a cool little bit about the CDC link there. This is just in case a huge Melania fan is the single last person on Earth who hasn’t heard of the CDC guidelines and doesn’t know exactly what social distancing means, has never seen a mask, nor know what is expected.

Melania Trump has a way of finding the path of “least” resistance, and when I say “least,” I mean doing the “least” she can possibly do and still be seen to be doing “something.” So she chooses to send a message today again. Instead of taking the time to send a loving message, one that inspires, or a message with new information, she sends a message with one q-bit of information, the one that every first-grader in the country can cite of the top of their cute little heads.

Is there someone out there who was considering going to square dance but decided, oh – wait, Melania is right, and she always tends to be right about these things, I suppose I’ll stay home?

Melania manages to find a new way to say “I don’t give a fck” every single time she interacts with the public. She can’t be bothered to find some new information to pass along. Her message and words couldn’t possibly be more lifeless. She has the heart of a robot, the brain of a Commodore 64 and a body brought to you by the best practices of the American Society for Plastic Surgery.

But no amount of plasticity in her “look” can match the plasticity of her message. Perhaps Melani feels most comfortable “bare” in public, because when it comes to doing anything “of service” – she always finds a way to do the bare minimum and still be seen to be doing “something.” No matter her current profession, nor any of the others she might have held throughout her life, doing “the bare minimum” isn’t going to win anyone over but certainly leaves no one with any doubt that she doesn’t care, and it doesn’t take a jacket any longer.

I have said it before and will say once again, I wish she would just drop it altogether. Say that she doesn’t do media, she’s going to remain private and take care of her family, and stop pretending that there is a role for her to play, because right now she’s making a mockery out of what used to be a very respected task taken up by some pretty great women throughout our history. I suppose she gets it from her husband, who is doing the same thing.  With less care.
