Weijia Jiang, Reporter Harassed By Creepy Trump: “I Can’t Get ‘Nice and Easy’ Out of My Head”

“If you look at what I did banning China from coming in,” Trump began.

“Not American nationals,” she cut in, to mention the 40,000 people who were allowed back into the U.S. from China.

“Nice and easy. Nice and easy. Relax. We cut it off. Everybody was amazed that I did it….

LATER

“So do you acknowledge –” she began again before he snapped at her again.

“Keep your voice down!” Trump shouted.

Trump Answering CBS reporter Weijia Jiang at a Press Conference on 4-20-19

Weijia Jiang on Twitter: 4-22-20

I recall my reaction as I watched live, as a 49-year-old man with a 12-year-old daughter. The hair on the back of my neck stood up. I was writing a column on the press conference, and I don’t think I will ever forget what I wrote. I quoted Trump on the “Relax, nice and easy … keep your voice down …” and then I wrote “Like a Predator!”

I got the gut-churning sense that he had said the exact same thing to many young women, many many times. He was in his element, his hatred was palpable, and he was going to hurt and control this woman. He didn’t sound like normal men who maybe are a little attracted to women, we can all be a bit susceptible occasionally. No, Trump sounded like a man who enjoys hurting women.

I am glad that Weijia is expressing her feelings. She was accosted, and made a victim, or at least the attempt at controlling her, that is what it sounded like. It sounded like he enjoyed controlling women, especially women that can’t fight back.

Many people had the same sense and came to Weijia’s defense, or at least gave her moral support, in response to her tweet. I am glad that people reached out to her.

It sounded just like that. “Like a predator.”

Yes. Again, he wants control, and a confident mature woman who can do her job and not be controlled is a threat. He prefers women or girls, who cannot stand up to him for various reasons.

Yes, that is what I saw, and I’m a man who hasn’t had to endure such a situation as a victim. That is how obvious it was.

“Keep your voice down,” “nice and easy.”

That is the “president” of the United States, a man with over 20 credible sexual assaults of women and girls, a man who once bragged about grabbing a married woman – “and they let you do it …”

I don’t blame her for expressing her feelings. I suspect this will not go away anytime soon.

Tell me this isn’t creepy:

Peace, y’all
