Angela Merkel Rejects Trump’s G-7 Invite to Washington DC and Trump is FURIOUS

The leader of Western Democracy, Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, stood her ground this week while Trump did all he could to include the G7 nations to buy into his “Great American Comeback.”

The meetings were to occur at Camp David over June 10-12. The U.S. originally canceled the meetings, sensibly, due to the coronavirus outbreak. Now, with COVID still raging in many states, Trump seems to want to manipulate Americans and the world into buying that we’re undergoing a great “comeback.” Angela Merkel said “nien.”

Business Insider reported on a Trump tweet earlier in the week stating that he was considering extending the invitation again:

In a tweet, he said: “I am considering rescheduling the G-7, on the same or similar date, in Washington, D.C., at the legendary Camp David. The other members are also beginning their COMEBACK. It would be a great sign to all – normalization!”

It would appear that the world’s most democratic leader had a different agenda, keeping herself and her people healthy:

“The federal chancellor thanks President Trump for his invitation to the G7 summit at the end of June in Washington. As of today, considering the overall pandemic situation, she cannot agree to her personal participation, to a journey to Washington,” the report quoted German government spokesman Steffen Seibert as saying.

And that wasn’t the only disagreement the two have:

A senior US official, who declined to be named told Politico that Trump and Merkel had “heated disagreements on topics including NATO, the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline between Russia and Germany, and relations with China,” during a phone call this week.

And Trump’s not at all happy:

Trump was reportedly “furious over Merkel’s reluctance to attend the summit,” Politico reported.

Maybe Merkel was really looking forward to being in Miami to enjoy some June sun at a spot near the airport, like Doral?

Nien.
