The coronavirus is coming awfully close to “home” in the White House with respect to Trump. According to CNN, Trump’s personal valet has tested positive for the virus, which would seem to be about as close as one gets to Trump without being Melania … and we’ll say that there are others there – including possibly the valet, that appear closer to Trump than Melania. Per Rawstory:

A member of the U.S. Navy who also serves as a personal valet to President Trump has tested positive for coronavirus, CNN reports .

As CNN points out, the valets are an elite military unit who work in the White House and are sometimes very close to the president and first family. Trump was reportedly upset when he learned the valet tested positive. He was tested a second time by a White House physician.

Oh, Trump was upset?

I suppose now he knows how the people in the meat plants feel when they are ordered to go back to work without proper protection.

“We were recently notified by the White House Medical Unit that a member of the United States Military, who works on the White House campus, has tested positive for Coronavirus,” deputy White House press secretary Hogan Gidley said in a statement. “The President and the Vice President have since tested negative for the virus and they remain in great health.”

Isn’t it interesting that the only reason Trump knows that there is someone in his vicinity with the virus and was then isolated, is due to testing, and yet earlier this morning we already reported that Trump doesn’t favor testing for the rest of us – at least not much – because “it makes Trump look bad,” as the numbers go up.

So Trump is angry that someone was allowed near his presence, and was only caught due to frequent and proper testing, but Trump isn’t convinced that the nation needs testing because that makes numbers go up, which makes him look bad.

The irony never ends. It is always about him.

I do predict that given this nation’s failures, given Trump’s ineptitude, and given the campaign season coming, either Trump or Pence (or both) will come down with Coronavirus at some point. They will likely be fine given the speed with which they will get treatment.
