It Took Trump Just 12 Hours to Crap All Over George Bush’s Unity Message and People Are Furious
This man’s selfishness goes beyond words. The word “narcissist” was invented for people like him, and yet it no longer seems strong enough, even “pathological” added to it doesn’t seem to capture enough. George W. Bush put out a message yesterday from his presidential center on Twitter, as I am sure most have seen.
For our purposes, we will toss aside momentarily that George Bush oversaw two wars that didn’t end, an economic crash and Katrina. We will only note that George W. Bush could very much show compassion when he wanted to. He teared-up on 9-11, he hugged people, he could talk about things besides himself. All that.
You would think that Bush’s message humiliated Trump, because it showed Trump up. It showed Trump “how it is done,” and it is so easy that even George W. Bush could do it. Many liberals on Twitter said it brought tears to their eyes. Here is the reaction it evoked from Donald Trump:
.@PeteHegseth “Oh bye the way, I appreciate the message from former President Bush, but where was he during Impeachment calling for putting partisanship aside.” @foxandfriends He was nowhere to be found in speaking up against the greatest Hoax in American history!

Nice job misspelling “by.” You’re about as smart as a fish, aren’t you, Donnie?

Note, the first bit is Trump pretending to quote someone else, which Trump does when he likes what someone says and doesn’t want to seem like he’s the one who said it. But then it is total Trump who adds: “He was nowhere to be found in speaking-up against the greatest “H”oax in American history.”
Trump believes that Bush’s greatest sin is keeping silent during a much greater catastrophe, his impeachment. Donald Trump knows – or has some hazy idea – that sometime Tuesday we will hit 70,000 dead. (And I am always going to note that 60,000 of those deaths came while people were practicing extreme social distancing.) Even with 70,000 dead, Trump criticizes Bush for staying silent during what TRUMP believes is the real tragedy that America’s endured – his impeachment.
Perhaps George Bush kept his mouth shut during impeachment because he knew damned well that it is supposed to be the most political time, it is about impeaching a president. But more importantly, I suspect Donnie knows that George Bush kept his mouth shut because he knew what Trump did, knew it was criminal, and Bush probably enjoyed seeing Trump have to squirm. Remember, George’s mother kept Trump out of her funeral, and one thing about George Bush, you can’t say that man didn’t love his mom and dad.
Anyway, Trump’s message didn’t go over well at all:
We tweeted yesterday that as soon as Mr. Trump became aware of President Bush's inspiring video, the attacks on the former President would begin.
Mr. Trump's behavior has always been far below what the American people deserve. Lately, it has been alarmingly angry & incoherent.— Leadership Masters (@LeadersMaster) May 3, 2020
President Bush sends a beautiful message that we are all equal and we all need to help each other and trump attacks him. There is no low for this pathetic man

“The former president put out a non-partisan message of hope for the American people, but where was he when I demanded everyone take partisan sides?! Where was he then, huh??”

Trump makes a deadly pandemic that has taken the lives of over 67,000 Americans all about him…again.

Presidents typically don't get involved in the activities of their predecessors.
Obviously, in this time of great national crisis, a leader needed to speak out.
Something you have been incapable of doing.
