James Carville Rips ‘Pack of Grifters’ in Trump’s Campaign — Claims They’re Giving President ‘Fake Polls’ to ‘Fleece’ Him

How perfect an ending would it be if Donald Trump were undone, unbeknownst to himself, by someone who fleeced him for money? How poetic would that be, if Brad Parscale – who has made near $40 million over four years operating “the Trump campaign,” was feeding Trump fake polls to continue to feed more and more money into the campaign, believing that they were doing well, all to feed increasingly money-hungry campaign operatives who had Trump convinced he was winning right up until the day after the election, only to find that Trump has lost, and will be leaving office, while the campaign staff runs off, having made their millions, knowing that the defeat is ultimately on Trump himself?

How perfect?

Trump has spent his whole life taking the money and running, and Democratic operative James Carville is saying that the same dynamic is set-up here, except that it’s team Trump campaign that will be cutting loose this time, with a whole lot of money: From Crooks and Liars:

JAMES CARVILLE: His campaign manager’s got two condos, a Ferrari, a yacht, a Range Rover. They’re all just fleecing the campaign. It’s just about making money and they’re going in, they’re giving him fake polls! This whole thing is just like a crumbling empire right before your eyes. Everybody is trying to take everything they can get on the way out and they’re trying to prop him up so they all can make money.

Wow.

For just a moment I wondered if it was worth it, and then smacked myself over the head.

I dearly hope Carville is right. But let’s say he’s just making it up. It is still brilliant because now he might’ve put that thought in Trump’s head. We know that Trump can’t manage all the details and the day to day management of anything. We know the kids are too busy planning their next moves to watch the campaign closely. What if Trump leans back and asks himself; “Are they feeding me fake polls?” “What if they are just trying to rob me blind?”

It’s a win right there, already, if Trump asks those questions alone. But it’s not like Parscale has hidden his money.

Carville worries about the same thing I worry about, that Trump will interfere with the election itself:

And this is how Parscale earns his paychecks:

Smart enough to get rich, maybe not smart enough to do it legally. And if he’s feeding Trump fake polls, Trump has a lot of Russian friends who specialize in helping people end their own lives.

High stakes. But I bet Carville has a reason for making the claims he’s making. He might well be right. They definitely are in it for the money.
