Body Language Expert Says Creepy Photo of the Trumps at Shrine Reveals They Did NOT Want to Be There
Donald Trump and wife Melania Trump toured a Catholic shrine on Tuesday in his second straight religious-themed appearance as the nation grappled with widespread unrest over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis…and based the opinion of a body language expert, neither of the Trumps wanted to be there.
Critics said the president was misusing religious symbols for partisan purposes. The White House said Trump and first lady Melania Trump were observing a “moment of remembrance,” laying a wreath in a quiet visit to the Saint John Paul II National Shrine.
The visit came a day after Trump declared himself to be the “president of law and order” and then walked to St. John’s Episcopal Church across from the White House after Lafayette Park was forcibly cleared of protesters. He held up a Bible for photos in front of the church, known as “The Church of the Presidents,” which had been damaged by fire during weekend protests.
The visit to the Saint Pope John Paul II Shrine was an odd one for a few reasons.
One, we got this memorable moment, where the president had to tell his obviously annoyed wife to smile. Because women really love that.

Then we were graced with these CREEPY photos from inside the shrine.

The photos were ridiculous but did gain us some really funny memes.
This photo in particular is creeping everyone out:
Dr. Jack Brown, an expert in body language and emotional intelligence revealed quite a few interesting tidbits from the photo. Some are not very surprising, such as the fact that Trump is angry and acting like a petulant child. More surprising is that Melania Trump could be experiencing anxiety, which probably isn’t that surprising considering who she is married to.
Take a look:
1/ THREAD: For the second time this week, Donald Trump used a church as a photo op. This image released this morning shows the President and First Lady at Saint John Paul II Shrine. What follows is a partial #BodyLanguage#BodyLanguageExpert #EmotionalIntelligence pic.twitter.com/VOSERW2T2L

2/ Note the expression on Trump's face. His primary emotion is that of anger. Note his:
• Lowered forehead and eyebrows
• Eyebrows pulled together
• Partially closed eyelids
• Tense lower eyelids
• Partially flared nostrils
• Tense midface
• Thinned upper lipbut also… pic.twitter.com/DlMAs2HGVr

3/ His secondary emotion is that of petulance. Trump is pouting. Note his:
• Jaw partially protruding
• Jaw partially tensed
• Lower lip protruding— Dr. Jack Brown (@DrGJackBrown) June 4, 2020
4/ Melania's midface shows an amalgam of:
• Mild disgust
• Impatience pic.twitter.com/Drg4ZIR7U5— Dr. Jack Brown (@DrGJackBrown) June 4, 2020
5/ Note Melania's hands. Her right thumb is considerably contracted (flexed), while the nail of her left index finger is pressing against the pad of her left thumb (Intriguingly, a behavior also common w/ Mike Pence when he poses with Trump). This demonstrates Melania's anxiety. pic.twitter.com/qSiPfvAA1u

6/ Now, notice the position of the Crucifix. It is the one object in this image that is considerably off-center. Crucially, while the Crucifix is positioned in front of Melania, no part of it is superimposed on Trump.
— Dr. Jack Brown (@DrGJackBrown) June 4, 2020
7/ Moreover, the Crucifix is turned toward the camera, rather than toward the parishioners. This was performed deliberately — either because Trump was emotionally uncomfortable looking at the likeness of a Christ — or so that the Crucifix could be used as a prop.

8/ Summary: Donald Trump's nonverbal display in this image is that of a Sulking, Petulant Child who took considerable care to NOT be 'touching'/overlapping with a likeness of a dying/self-sacrificing Jesus Christ.
