Watch How Fox News Edits Video to Remove Police Cuffing Innocent Black People

When a family of good samaritans flagged down police in Los Angeles, California, in an attempt to protect a local business from looters, the cops turned around and handcuffed them instead, noted one Fox News affiliate. But you wouldn’t know that if you watched Fox News’s video of the incident. Because it edited and removed the footage that shows the officers draw their guns and handcuff the family members.

In the unedited video from Monday evening, several people, including Christina Gonzalez, a reporter for the local affiliate flagged down officers while trying to stop the looters, and it’s now gone viral, Rolling Stone reports. But once the officers are on scene they begin shouting at the family members, even though Gonzalez and others in the news crew tell them they have the wrong people.

Monet, one of the people who was handcuffed, told Fox 11, the local affiliate, that she was shocked when police put restraints on her, her husband, and her brother-in-law, especially since Gonzalez kept yelling to the officers that they had the wrong people.

But the officers completely ignored and rebuffed Gonzalez. And are you really surprised that everyone handcuffed in this incident is African-American? Considering the racially tense climate in the U.S. right now?

It was a terrifying experience for Monet, who tried to make sense of the situation.

“I was handcuffed, thrown up against a wall with my husband and brother-in-law, and I’m like ‘What the hell?'” she said. “The news people are here and telling you it’s not her, she’s trying to stop the situation.'”

But if Fox News is your sole source of news, you wouldn’t know this happened, because even though it used the story from the affiliate station, someone there carefully excised out all of the aggressive and terrible behavior displayed by the officers. The network chose instead to focus on the good samaritan narrative, but this is Fox News after all, where the news is most definitely unfair and biased.

And Fox News has focused heavily on the violence stemming from the protests, by ignoring or defending police brutality. This even includes incidents where the cops have intervened violently during peaceful protests. But editing out police violence in this incident may be the biggest lie Fox News had told in quite a while.

We thought you’d like to see both videos for yourself, so here they are below. Please keep in mind that the original video is disturbing.
