Kayleigh McEnany’s Parents Received at Least $1 Million in PPP Relief Funds

Kayleigh McEnany is quite the loyal spokesperson/communications director, indeed she’s shamelessly loyal. There are a million reasons she protects Trump all day every day, but none of them talk like money and when it comes to money, Kayleigh’s family is doing very well under the Trump administration’s COVID relief plans.

According to Dailydot.com:

The data was released Monday after government accountability experts and journalists, concerned about the program’s lack of transparency and secrecy, pressured Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to make it publicly available.

McEnany Roofing, a commercial roofing company in Florida owned by McEnany’s parents, Michael and Leanne McEnany, received somewhere between $1–2 million dollars from PPP.

We don’t know the exact figure because the Small Business Association won’t release exact details, which is infuriating since those “exact details” are relatively important.

PPP was created by Congress as part of the CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act, and implemented by the executive branch, to assist small businesses in navigating the economic crisis brought on by coronavirus. According to program rules, as long as the money is used to pay employees, and for rent and utilities, the government will forgive the entire loan.

And therein lies one of the many problems. How do watchdog organizations ensure that the loans are used for what they assert if they can’t get details? In a roofing company, that money might well have been put to good use if it was $1.05 million and if it all went to the allowed expenses, well, that’s what it’s there for.

But if it was a $1.98 million loan and $880,000 of it went to the owners, that’s a problem. Without assurances that the programs will be watched-over and audited, it is very difficult to tell.

If it’s the Trump administration watching over the program, Kayleigh knows that the family has nothing to worry about. The Trump administration is about corruption. But if Biden wins … Kayleigh and any other family members might well go through some things. (“Might,” since we don’t know with certainty.)
