Ivanka Trump Blew Off Homeless Woman In D.C. After Promising To Reach Out in Viral Video

File this story under least-shocking thing one has heard in quite some time, from the Washington Post.

Over a month ago, Ivanka met Kiesha Davis at the DC Dream Center. Ivanka was there helping distribute food from the Agriculture Department’s Farmers to Families Food Box Program, while Davis was there as a volunteer who desperately needed food for her family. They talked and Davis shared some of the troubles she had been having with Ivanka.

Ivanka put out a tweet sharing what they had discussed:

In the video, Davis talked about the difficulties she and her 76-year-old mother have had in scraping together some kind of living for the last year and she gave thanks for the program taking place all around her. She talked about the difficulty of being homeless.

From the video:

We’ve been sleeping out of a vehicle. But I’m a community advocate, and so, yes, it has been depressing and debilitating, but I’m so grateful and thankful for Ivanka, coming here with everyone today to partner with DC Dream Center. That has been awesome to get food out into the community. They’ve allowed me to come and pick up food to be able to deliver to people that are shut-in, that are needy, that are homeless and disabled, you name it.

Many people who saw it thanked Ivanka for caring so much:

“Thank you @IvankaTrump for all that you do for our country.”

Davis said at first that she didn’t think it was political at all. Ivanka had promised to follow-up with Davis. Tonight, Ivanka is scheduled to talk to the RNC convention – Ivanka found time to go on TV – but she hasn’t found time to contact Davis or done anything beyond the photo-op.

“There was hope in the moment, and then after that, it was like, ‘Okay, I’ve been through this before,’ ” Davis says. “I’m used to people blowing me off.”

Davis’s tale is one that’s been told over and over. The Trumps are in this entire “game” for themselves and have no problem using people in furtherance of themselves. They show no empathy and maybe don’t possess any. On a day that it helped Ivanka to appear to care and appear to want to help, Ivanka “appeared.” But now that Ivanka got her benefit from the appearance, Ivanka has since disappeared from Kiesha Davis’s life, while Davis’s problems and struggles have not. Davis got a few weeks of hope and then more despair.
