Rush Limbaugh Floats Insane Conspiracy Theory That Biden’s DNC Speech Was Not Live and Was Spliced Together

Rush Limbaugh touted a ridiculous lie on his radio program Friday, claiming that the reason Joe Biden’s live acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention Thursday was so wonderfully done and so poignant is because it was actually taped earlier and then edited for broadcast. Limbaugh pushed this even though a report by ABC News noted that roughly three-dozen journalists attended Biden’s speech.

And that’s not all who witnessed the former vice president’s speech. Several members of his campaign staff were there, as was a skeleton camera crew and members of the Secret Service.

But Limbaugh just can’t get enough of conspiracy theories; even ones like this one that are demonstrably false, Mediaite reports.

“I have to tell you, let me just review, there are a lot of people I have come to find out who want to know if [Biden’s] speech was delivered live or was it pre-recorded?”

Of course, Limbaugh never tells us who the people making this ridiculous claim are.

“Now the assumption I think that everybody had going in was he was live because we didn’t hear anything else. And the time came for the speech to happen, the lights went down or came up and here comes [Biden] and starts the speech,” he said. “Some people are of the opinion that it had to be tape. And it had to be taped in segments and the segments had to be edited together because plugs is not capable of 22 minutes even reading a prompter with no screw-ups, this is the prevailing theory.”

The extreme right-wing radio host did notice that Biden made a “tiny, little” flub, but then alleged it was so minor that DNC speech editors left it as is.

“Some have said to me: ‘Look Rush, this isn’t complicated. If Biden was able to read that speech with all of that emotion or all of that empathy. If he was able to do that after 22 minutes, then why not go outside and do it on a stage in front of all the people in the cars?” Limbaugh added. “Which you have to admit, is a legitimate question.”

To which Mediaite reporter Reed Richardson noted “Limbaugh claimed without considering the number of explanations the Democratic nominee might not want to give a speech outdoors at night, with simple unpredictable factors like wind, bugs, and his physical security being just a few.”

Reasons like this and the fact that Biden’s speech was witnessed by dozens of credible sources is lost on Limbaugh.

“But because he did it from inside the building there are some people asking a legitimate question,” he said. “Was that thing really live, or was it a series of edited together segments made to look live on the premise that Biden isn’t capable of 22 minutes, however long it was, of flawless reading with proper emotion and all that of what’s on the TelePrompTer without making a single mistake?”

Of course, Limbaugh left out one key fact: If President Donald Trump’s speeches were edited they might make a hell of a lot more sense. Here’s more of what Limbaugh said in the video below.
