Two Psychologists Warn the Nation in Terrifying Op-Ed: ‘Say It Plainly, Donald Trump Is a Psychopath’
It is a fascinating and maddening phenomenon that the more psychologists, psychiatrists, and various others (generals, politicians, women, media figures) that come out and say “Trump is sick and dysfunctional to the point that he’s now literally killing Americans” (masks), the more normalized it seems to become. It is remarkable that we now find it “normal” for mental health professionals to write dire articles in newspapers and websites – all of which are true, and it has no impact whatsoever. The only explanation becomes “mass psychosis” and that seems to be where we stand.
In the New York Daily News, two clinical psychologists, Alan Blotcky and Seth Norrholm, lay out the clear case that Donald Trump is a psychopath, using an exhaustive review of all that he’s done and all he believes. In part, the article states:
It is time to stop pulling punches. It is time to stop relying on political pundits to weigh in on Trump’s behavior, which they often soften and even normalize. We are psychologists, and we are convinced Donald Trump is a psychopath. His malignant behavior over the past four years is growing and escalating right before our eyes. Trump’s psychopathy will change us forever if he is not stopped.
The problem is that democracies are not well-equipped to stop a psychopath who is supported by 42% of the population and who is willing to break every single law needed to remain in power.
We mentioned breaking laws?
Trump will do absolutely anything — no matter how untruthful or illegal or immoral — to win this election. He has already compromised the Postal Service.
He is already doing it, right before our eyes. In our lifetimes, we have seen one presidential election go to the Supreme Court, and that one was due to the single closest Florida race conceivable, one state, within a thousand votes – it was inevitable. It was a corrupt decision but it was inevitable. Bush v. Gore is the only presidential election we’ve seen go to the SCOTUS.
Trump assumes that the SCOTUS will “decide” the next election. He isn’t worried about “votes,” he’s worried about litigating a victory. This is a mad man who is putting himself ahead of a 244-year-old democracy. On his own and for his own benefit, he’s willing to wreck the constitution and therefore the country, because once one goes down this road, it doesn’t come back naturally.
Trump is the most psychiatrically disordered president in history. Donald Trump is dishonest and destructive and evil. He has become embolden and empowered by the complicity of his Republican sycophants. Sadly, he now believes he is destined to carry on his mission. He feels unstoppable. And he must be stopped before it is too late.
They said it with devastatingly plain language.
