We hope that Melania Trump gets through COVID unscathed. We wish her a speedy recovery.

We do find it remarkable that she has had the opportunity to reach out to people who are truly suffering and done remarkably little. Indeed, when she had the opportunity to visit children who were immigrants, just like her, who were suffering on the border, tapes reveal that Melania felt far more sympathy for herself than for the kids and was quick to point the finger at both Obama and the media.

It is difficult for anyone to even remember yesterday prior to the news that Trump and Melania (as well as Hope) contracted the virus. But a major story broke yesterday regarding Stephanie Winston-Wolkoff released tapes of Melania addressing both her contempt for preparing the White House for Christmas (who cares?) and the fact that the media was so critical of her regarding the kids down on the border.

Right now, Melania is suffering, or at least could be suffering very soon. She wants you to know that she appreciates how generous people have been in their concern and well wishes. (Below we’ll get to the tapes)

And Jennifer Rubin has the perfect response, given what we heard yesterday:

After all, it was just yesterday that Melania made it perfectly clear that despite the fact that immigrants like her were in cages on the border, she was the victim. She complained – with serious vitriol and un-Lady-like language, about how SHE was being treated:

We have to say, that though we’re in no way conspiracy theorists, it is just so typical of the Trump administration that what should have been the scandal of the week – Melania’s tapes – lasted about four hours. Melania’s monstrous thoughts on kids on the border stayed on the media radar for less than six hours before she once again became the victim.

Melania is getting some sympathy, but some are not at all sympathetic regarding her COVID diagnosis. Moreover, some don’t trust a thing coming out of the White House anyway:

This is strongly representative of the conspiracy theory that is dominating part of the net. We do not give it any credibility, we’re reporting on it existing as a conspiracy theory:

A ploy. Nothing else is working. Trump is falling precipitously in the polls. This is a last-ditch effort to garner sympathy. I mean, if you were facing life in prison, wouldn't you grasp at straws, too?
