Trump Declares That the Only Person More Famous Than Him is Jesus Christ Himself
During a rally in Greenville, North Carolina, President Donald Trump said that Jesus Christ is the only person who’s more famous than he is, The Hill reports.
“Someone said the other day, ‘you’re the most famous person in the world by far.’ I said, ‘no, I’m not’ … they said, ‘who’s more famous?’ I said, ‘Jesus Christ,” Trump said, to cheers from his audience.
During the exchange, Trump also said “I’m not taking any chances … I’m not having any arguments — Jesus Christ!”
“And let me look up and I’ll say it’s not even close,” he said, casting his eyes upward.
Trump also offered condolences to two aides on Joe Biden’s campaign team who tested positive for COVID-19.
“Masks, no masks, everything, you can do all you want, but you know, you still need help from the boss,” he said, pointing to the sky.
Trump’s comments are reminiscent of similar statements by John Lennon, who famously claimed on an August day in 1966 that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus. His comments caused an international firestorm that led to the burnings of the band’s albums and threats to their lives.
But one can assume no one’s going to get upset about Trump’s remarks; he’s said far more upsetting things than this, and now his son Eric is claiming his dad “literally saved Christianity.”
“The Democratic Party, the far left, has become the party of the ‘atheists’ (he says that like it’s a bad thing) and they want to attack Christianity, they want to close the churches, they’re totally fine keeping the liquor stores open,” he said on a radio show in North Dakota, in reference to some governors’ coronavirus restrictions.
As President Trump becomes more desperate and his remarks more off-the-wall, more Christians are setting their sights on Joe Biden, himself a practicing Catholic, with more than 1600 faith leaders signing a letter last week endorsing him. It’s reported to be the largest group in current history to support a Democratic presidential candidate.
It’s heartening to know that not all religious leaders are stupid.
