Trump’s Closing Argument: Lock His Enemies Up, and Prosecute the New York Times: Sound Familiar?

The entire world is at the mercy of a pandemic and not just as a health issue. Huge economic repercussions follow pandemics. Economic issues start wars. We might pull out of NATO, getting closer to Russia than Germany. North Korea gets to do whatever it wants, and – interestingly, for all the tough talk, it seems like China gets to do whatever it wants, too. The U.S. doesn’t “feel” like the world leader anymore, it’s actually not. Gotta look to Japan, SoKo, Canada, UK, France, Germany partnership to find “the world leaders.”

Domestically, holy shit. We are the worst, THE worst, at handling COVID and our only plan seems to actually handle it worse, by not doing shit. We never did get a second needed stimulus plan and there’s no reason to think that we’ll get one unless the Dems sweep and that’s months away. We don’t seem to function anymore, Congress never compromises. The SCOTUS is a one stop shop for Republicans that will litigate anything that they don’t like. We are about to kick 20 million off health insurance and no longer cover pre-existing conditions. Infrastructure? Are you fcking kidding? Have you seen a modern nation lately? We look like we’re falling apart.

We could go on, but what’s the point?

All that is happening, and, maybe some of it is happening because we have the type of incumbent president whose closing argument for another term involves throwing a critic, Miles Taylor, in jail (Gee, that’s comforting, let’s throw critics of the government in prison, or just off ten-story buildings) and he wants to sue the New York Times because they published an article he didn’t like.

Of course, that is not all he talked about, he touched upon some other things. But for the love of god, man, one only has so much time to keep people’s attention, and people that watch Fox News couldn’t pick Miles Taylor out of a line-up of 4 women and one man. Trump just made the NYT article more important than it was before.

This is not the closing argument one wants to make five days prior to an election … Unless this is exactly the type of leader one wants to be over a country that totally allows all this to happen. Putin destroyed Russia and sold it for scrap, making billions. Trump seems jealous.
