Trump Says He’s Responsible for the Coronavirus Vaccines But Not 250K Dead Americans

There has been some good news lately regarding COVID and vaccines. We should be relieved because it darn sure didn’t “have” to be this way. Moderna announced that its vaccine – a different vaccine than the Pfizer vaccine, also has proven to be 95% effective. The results are great, though preliminary. It is wonderful to get some great news since the rest of the COVID news couldn’t be worse.

We have record numbers of new infections a day and space in hospitals all over the country is drying up. Chicago is at 95% capacity according to the report on MSNBC just now. As we’ve reported before, at last check, Mississippi only has 12% of its ICU beds available in the entire state. Another report on MSNBC just said that Utah had 85% of its hospital bed space taken up in the entire state. Additionally, sometime this week the country will officially hit 250,000 deaths. Hospitilizations will go up as the numbers from late last week start to get sicker.

Trump wants credit for the vaccines. He won’t take responsibility for the 250,000 dead, nor the 10 million cases that will have worked its way throughout the country, nor the fact that the positivity rate in Wisconsin right now is 30% and you can track outbreaks with his super spreader events, he won’t take responsibility for infecting the Secret Service, he won’t take responsibility for the fact that early on, when the country could have been shut down and the virus perhaps stopped hard in its tracks for two months, preventing 200,000 deaths, he wouldn’t allow it – it was a blue state problem back then and blue state governors were responsible.

But he fcking wants everyone to know that he’s taking “responsibility” and wants credit for the vaccines that are developed on his watch:

That is so unbelievably childish after everything he has said about everything being on the governors, and especially offensive this week when the nation’s ICUs are full with people unable to breathe. There is even a report going around Twitter than an ICU nurse in North Dakota said she had a patient insisting that he had lung cancer, because COVID is a hoax. THAT kind of dangerous thinking, the reason that 250,000 people will have died (by this week), and perhaps 350,000 by this spring, also took place on Trump’s watch!
