Trump’s COVID Adviser Calls For Insurrection Against Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer: ‘Rise Up!’

It is surprising that it has taken this long.

This country is undergoing record numbers of new COVID cases per day (Friday reports were 180,000, two months ago, 80,000 would have been considered a horrific day), hospital space is now drying up, quite literally. Your expectation in the United States of America, that if you are struggling to breathe and your life is on the line, you will be able to get help at your local hospital, that someone will be there to say, “Come here, let’s look at you …”  is now very much threatened. Hospitals all over are “closing” to new admissions of any kind. Head split open? Find another hospital. That is our new reality and it is also why Doctors Without Borders is in the United States.

This is all brought to you by the Trump administration, that just never really cared, nor believed in COVID and thought of it more as a state problem and a gigantic inconvenience to Trump’s reelection. The Trump administration was funny that way, difficult issues like COVID and healthcare generally were shoved more onto the governors. It was the states’ problem until the state did something Trump didn’t like – as Michigan did when it closed.

Governor Inslee of Washington just essentially shut the state down again, many others will follow. But Washington is very much a blue state with no role to play in Trumps … attempt to steal the election? So instead of focusing on Inslee (and many other governors considering the dame thing), Trump’s primary COVID adviser, Scott Atlas – radiologist, is now inciting Michiganders to rise up against any action Gov. Whitmer takes:

We have several questions.

One, this sure feels like an election consideration thing, asking Michigan, a key state with a Republican legislature to “rise up” against a Democratic governor.

Two, either this is a national problem where Trump declares that COVID doesn’t matter and hospital space doesn’t matter and he will be doing the shutdown or non-shut down, OR, this is left to the states, in which case federal officials support whatever local governor determines to be best.

Three, this will incite violence and spread the disease, two things with terrible health results, all compliments of Dr. Scott Atlas, above all else, do no harm.

Four, some way, somehow, this is about keeping Trump in the White House. Everything they do right now is geared toward keeping Trump in the White House. We likely underestimate how serious they are about pointing at “Electors” at the E.C. Maybe Michigan will send some that are angry at Biden and shutdowns.

Despicable.
