The White House Threw It’s Lavish ‘Congressional Christmas Ball’ Last Night and the Photos Will Make You Sick
We have some pictures we need to see even though it’s hard. It is our duty as citizens.
Of late, and almost by necessity, the news lately is focused primarily upon Donald Trump’s demands that the United States bow to his pressure. Donald Trump’s position essentially boils down to this: It doesn’t matter that he technically lost the election, he almost has a right to a second term, and getting that second term is just a matter of sheer willpower. Most news media also does a decent job of covering COVID to the extent they can. Nicolle Wallace features the life, obituary, for at least one victim each night, to remind us they’re all people.
It is monstrous that Trump is so singularly focused upon his own fate, and we mean political fate because that will guide his fate when he’s out of office and like always the only thing that matters to Trump are his own needs, his own desires. He will sexually assault women for his own needs and feel nothing for her. He will steal money for his own needs from any account he can obtain. He will do what he wants without regard for the laws because his own needs require him to break those laws, and he’ll pardon someone else or himself to get around it.
It always centers on his needs.
But look at this, please – even though it’s hard and even though Trump insists we all focus on his needs.

It is profane for an American president to be consumed with himself to the point he’s contesting elections in which he was beaten thoroughly when so many thousands are dying of a disease that he let fester, indeed a disease he got, because its prevention didn’t register as one of his own needs.
But the numbers above are not numbers. They are people. Moms and Dads, brothers and sisters, wives, husbands, sons and daughters, best friends; Look at a person, please. It is hard.
Because of trump and REPUBLICAN POLITICIANS continuing to downplay the #TrumpVirus, Four of the deadliest days in U.S. history occurred last week …and REPUBLICANS insist on immunity from prosecution and lawsuits or NO RELIEF MONEY https://t.co/5OiH6SnasG

That person remains properly anonymous. We dearly hope that person lives. But that is a person, not a number.
Meanwhile, last night was quite a night at the White House, celebratory, in spite of Trump’s political troubles and definitely in spite of the person above. God help him or her.
But look at the fun to be had. Wasn’t it beautiful!

They danced and partied here:
The @WhiteHouse Cross Hall & Grand Foyer overflow with love, joy, peace, hope & faith, revealing the most important gifts of the season. The scene reminds us of the many blessings in our own lives & how grateful we are to call this beautiful land our home. #WHChristmas pic.twitter.com/YuGbxW9XPj

Melania looked stunning as usual. Although Donald hates when she wears suits.
Last night, President Trump and First Lady Melania attended the 2020 Congressional Ball.@FLOTUS is stunning in a Dior suit and Giorgio Armani blouse ❤️🤍❤️#FashionoftheFirstLady pic.twitter.com/Gyd3KAIruQ

If you have an ounce of humanity you’re near sick right now. We’ll leave it at that. Pray for the people suffering, and pray that the people attending the ball eventually, someday, realize their horrific actions.
Mark Cuban had some thoughts as well:

Peace, y’all
