It Appears Donald & Melania Trump Might Not Be Calling Mar-a-Lago Home After All

Now that Donald Trump’s presidency is drawing to a close it appears that he and First Lady Melania Trump will be returning to Palm Beach, Florida when his term ends. I know, it seems like it will never happen, but come January 20th at noon, the Trumps are GONE. But they likely won’t be calling Mar-a-Lago home, and his neighbors probably aren’t disappointed about this, especially since several made it quite clear that he’s not welcome there. Some took the time to remind him that he signed an agreement in 1993 that stipulates the property is only to be used as a club, and as such, club members are only allowed to stay there for 21 days a year, Yahoo!Entertainment reports.

As a result, the president and First Lady are now searching for properties that are close by.

“Melania and Trump are talking to brokers about buying a house in Palm Beach, or nearby, as the living space at Mar-a-Lago isn’t big enough and there could be some potential conflicts,” one unnamed source told PageSix.

The first couple initially planned to move back to Mar-a-Lago immediately after handing the reins over to President-elect Joe Biden but neighbors were quick to remind them of the legal ramifications surrounding this. Melania was even in the middle of making preparations to spruce the place up for their return.

“They are definitely renovating his apartment within the Mar-a-Lago club to make it larger, more modern and comfortable for his use,” one source told People earlier this month.

The couple will be just a stone’s throw away from Ivanka Trump and husband Jared Kushner, who recently plunked $30 million down on a lot in the gated community of Indian Creek Island, in Miami. Melania has also been looking at Palm Beach area private schools for their son, Barron, 14, and some speculate he may attend Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale.
