Wow, Donald Trump is desperate to get his “message” out to his followers. He must feel lost without the ability to reach them and infuriate the left. He likely also knows that without some kind of social media platform, he is doomed to a life as a quiet ex-president, no matter how loud he shouts. So, Trump is hunting for whatever might be out there for his use.

Some of his aides recommended “Gab,” and since we had never heard of it, we believed you might want a quick summary of the platform from Wiki:

Gab is an American alt-tech social networking service known for its far-right and extremist userbase. Widely described as a haven for extremists including neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and the alt-right, it has attracted users and groups who have been banned from other social networks.

Perfect! Neo-Nazis, far-right extremists, white supremacists, it’s a wonder he hadn’t thought of this before. And according to Rawstory, some aides wanted Trump to jump at the chance.

Jared Kushner, ever the quick and level-headed one, rushed to intervene:

CNN reports that Kushner “intervened when other officials tried restoring the President’s social media presence on sites that are often havens for extremists, such as Gab,” which is heavily used by neo-Nazis and other assorted racists as a “free speech” alternative to Twitter.

“Kushner and deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino blocked efforts by other aides, including personnel chief Johnny McEntee, to get the President on fringe social media platforms after he was suspended in some fashion from almost every major one, including Twitter, Facebook and, now, YouTube,” CNN reports.

Yeah, Kushner has that reputation to protect and he’s already seen it get bad enough. No sense in having Trump jump to a nazi site and make it even worse. Smart move, Kush.

At this point, after having read that Ivanka still believes that she’s a viable political candidate, the first “woman” president, we will probably see more efforts from Kushner and Ivanka to keep their stellar, deeply-respected reputations clean.
