Even though a surly, violent mob of rioters broke past barriers and stormed the Capitol building, Fox Business’ Lou Dobbs wanted to know why Washington, D.C. police drew their guns, Mediaite reports.

In a live report, correspondent Chad Pergram mentioned officials had drawn their weapons and that led Dobbs to jump in and ask “Why would they draw their guns? What was the threat?”

Um well, because as I mentioned earlier a violent mob stormed the Capitol. They didn’t stop there, however, and also raided the House and Senate Chambers, and at one point there was an armed standoff at the House Chamber doors.

I don’t know, maybe, just maybe that’s why officials drew their weapons. That, and the fact that these thugs were armed, which perhaps compelled law enforcement to respond. 

Pergram responded to Dobbs’ dumb question by explaining:

“They were trying to protect hundreds of members who were inside the chamber, frankly trying to — “

But Dobbs jumped in again before Pergram could finish his remarks.

“I’m not asking you to speak for them,” Dobbs said. “I’m asking you did they explain why they drew their guns?”

Pergram responded that an official response hadn’t been provided but reiterated “You just don’t have security breaches like that.”

But Dobbs was still stuck on stupid and remarked “Just as the country is dealing with trying to constrain lethal force, that would be a poor time to suggest that Capitol Hill police should draw their weapons on American citizens, most of whom are patriots.”

Then he heaped praise on President Donald Trump for the statement he made earlier Wednesday. Trump called on protesters to “go home” but then incited additional violence by again complaining the election was “rigged.”

Trump has subsequently been suspended on Twitter and banned on Facebook for 24 hours after telling the protesters “I love you” and repeating false claims about election fraud, according to BBC News. Some are now calling for the 25th Amendment to be implemented.

The President incited a domestic terror attack on the Capitol. He is an imminent threat to our democracy and he needs to be removed from office immediately. The Cabinet must invoke the 25th Amendment.

And Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-Minn) has completely had it with Trump and wants to see him removed from office. Kudos to her for stepping in here. The sooner he’s gone, the better.
