Trump Completely Denies Inciting Capitol Riots: What I Said Was ‘Totally Appropriate’
There was never any doubt that Trump would claim he did the absolute right thing. This was the man who made the “perfect call” in bribing Ukrainian officials while attempting to get a Ukrainian announcement that they were investigating Biden. (Trump didn’t even need an actual investigation, an announcement would do.) So there was never any doubt that Trump would declare his speech to be, if not perfect, “totally appropriate.”
It would have shaken the Earth if Trump had said that he had some regrets. Even if Trump made the admission solely as an attempt to put off a second impeachment, he would have thrown the nato down a rabbit hole if Trump admitted any sort of “misstep,” as characterized by another Republican pol.
So, in front of Air Force One with all that noise and power around him, the stuff he loves when speaking to reporters, he made the expected pronouncement that he acted totally appropriately. But more offensively, Trump then went on to compare his words to the actions that led to the BLM protests this last summer. From Politico: (More below)
“If you read my speech — and many people have done it, and I’ve seen it both in the papers and in the media, on television — it’s been analyzed, and people thought that what I said was totally appropriate,” Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews, en route to Alamo, Texas.

“And if you look at what other people have said — politicians at a high level — about the riots during the summer, the horrible riots in Portland and Seattle and various other places, that was a real problem, what they said,” Trump continued.
What a racist, entitled, self-righteous, and dangerous demon.
First, if there were “politicians at a high level” name them, please. Second, the presidency is supposed to rise above such a thing. Third, there were no speeches motivating the BLM protests. If cops stopped murdering unarmed black men and women or at least were charged with first-degree murder, there would have been fewer protests. Moreover, the damage this summer did not include the level of destruction we saw Wednesday, no one in BLM sought to kill anyone, nor did they try to overthrow a government. Most of the actual BLM protests took place during the day and were peaceful. Trump did more to protect a courthouse in Portland than he did protect the Capitol. And last, this is the lowest form of “whadaboutism” we’ve seen in a while. Even if what Trump said was true (and it isn’t), it has nothing to do with inciting a horde to rampage through the Capitol.
This man must be removed before he gives another totally appropriate speech. He is finding microphones again and Pence has to act.
