Ivanka Trump Informs Marco Rubio That She Won’t Be Running Against Him in 2022
Ivanka Trump has ruled out a 2022 Senate run against Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a source familiar with the situation told The Hill.
The New York Times reported on the new development early Thursday. Apparently, the unidentified source told the newspaper that a senate bid isn’t on her plate, despite recent rumors that she planned to challenge Rubio in the next election.
“Marco did speak with Ivanka a few weeks ago,” said Rubio spokesman Nick Iacovella. “Ivanka offered her support for Marco’s reelection. They had a great talk. I can also confirm that we are discussing a joint event to highlight Marco and Ivanka’s successful push to expand the Child Tax Credit.”
Rubio, first elected to the Senate in 2010, will be running for his third term next year.
The NYT’s source also said Rubio’s office asked Trump not to discuss rumors about a Senate run until she and Rubio could do a joint event in April.

Iacovella also told the newspaper discussions were held about the event but declined to say if Trump was asked not to discuss the Senate rumors.
Rubio and former president Donald Trump had their dustups during the 2016 Republican presidential primary campaign but remained on good terms after he was elected to the White House.
One can surmise Trump family members are nursing their wounds back in Florida because they received a good dragging through the mud. Most of this, of course, was brought about by dear old dad, with his continual screeching about the “stolen election.” But we were all privy to every tiny bit of news about this over-hyped, corrupt family. Former First Lady Melania Trump was also largely responsible for much of this, followed by Donald Trump Jr., and his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle.
There continue to be rumors about Trump and his kids’ political futures, but fortunately, no one from this self-obsessed family is running right now.
