Looney QAnon Rep Majorie Taylor Green Rages Against ‘Disgusting’ LGBTQ Equality Act

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was in rant mode Monday, attacking the LGBTQ community and the Equal Rights Act, which she characterized as an assault on the rights of Christians, The New York Daily News reports.

Greene, who’s about as right-wing as anyone can get, is claiming the measure will somehow force Christians to approve abortions. She’s also claiming the measure would treat transgender people the same as those born as a boy or a girl. She went completely nonsensical, claiming the act protects gay rights as a smokescreen to prevent Christians from living according to their beliefs.

“It has everything to do with attacking God & believers,” she posted on Twitter.

“Just to make myself clear,” she wrote, then got all shouty, “I WILL BE VOTING NO TO THE DISGUSTING, IMMORAL, AND EVIL #EqualityAct!!!”

“It has nothing to do with stopping discrimination against the LGBT community, that could be done easily without this,” she claimed. “It has everything to do with attacking God & believers.”

Okay, I don’t understand the first part of her tweet:

“If you perform a mastectomy in the case of breast cancer, you will have to perform one on the teenage girl identifying as a boy.

“All in the name of equality…”

Yeah, so? If someone has cancer and needs a mastectomy, let them have it. Whether they’re trans or not. All people should have this right. Maybe this woman was dropped on her head as a child or something.

Greene (R-Ga.) has been dubbed the QAnon Congresswoman because she supports the dangerously anti-Semitic cult, whose adherents claim prominent Democrats sacrifice babies in Satanic rituals, The New Civil Rights Movement reports.

She also claims, without providing any evidence, that the measure “virtually destroys women’s rights and religious freedom.”

But logic isn’t this woman’s strong suit. In no way does the measure attack women’s rights or religious freedom. As the Human Rights Campaign notes, the measure provides “consistent and explicit anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQ people across key areas of life, including employment, housing, credit, education, public spaces and services, federally funded programs, and jury service.”

Greene is vehemently anti-transgender. She’s co-sponsoring legislation that would ban trans girls from school sports. How sad. Congress is no place for a person who very likely belongs in a mental institution, although some of us might say the same for other members of Congress.
