Sen. Ron Johnson is Not Happy About the Fencing Around the Capitol Because it Makes MAGAs Look Bad

A lot of right-wing nuts regularly compete for the title of “dumbest representative in the House,” with no clear champion. But Ron Johnson has the title in the Senate so indisputably that they might make him King of the Stupid Senate for life (Or the next two years) and allow others the ability to compete. Democrats don’t go nuts over the idea of participation trophies.

The Capitol currently has fencing around it, way out around it, too.

We don’t know how long the threat will last. Perhaps if the Right stopped threatening Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, to say nothing of AOC, the country could enjoy its Capitol again, sans fencing.

But Ron Johnson is really mad about the signal it sends. He is bitter about it because it is “almost as if” the people who voted for Trump are armed insurgents, people who could really cause damage, and Johnson wants you to know that nothing could be further from the truth. We are not sure who Johnson believes caused the January 6th insurrection, we’re not sure who he believes might be planning a March 4th insurrection, or if Johnson understands calendars. He certainly doesn’t understand the current threat that MAGA, Proud Boys, and the Oath Keepers pose upon this country.

Moreover, we wonder how much Johnson complained when Donald Trump put two more lines of fencing even further out from the White House, during last summer’s protests. The White House grounds were nearly impossible to enter. If anyone got over the fencing they would be put down, perhaps permanently, definitely if he or she barged in with poles and the intent to take hostages. There would be no smiling pictures with the Secret Service afterward.

But the fences went in anyway. We don’t know if Trump ordered them but he could have said “No.” The Secret Service has to follow a president’s orders unless they face an acute emergency. So the fencing went up.

All of this is actually sad. Ron Johnson might have a complaint if it was permanent fencing. (He would still be wrong to wave away the MAGAs’ responsibility.) But this is the GOP-MAGA party we’re talking about, and the dumbest man in the Senate. Facts are no longer an option.

No. He is just Sen. Ron Johnson (M-Moscow) doing what MAGAs do.
