Whoopi Goldberg Loses It in Epic Rant: Trump’s Petty Feuds are Still Drowning Out REAL NEWS, Important news

One of the single hardest things to do in media right now is to gauge appropriate Trump coverage. On the one hand, everyone is sick of hearing about him and there is danger in elevating Trump’s voice. But on the other, as those here know, he is quite literally in the center of the vortex of the country’s single greatest unsolved crime on democracy in our day and we have seen the damage that his cult will do to elevate Trump themselves. There is no “wrong” decision and we’ve tried to balance both not elevating him personally (but definitely looking at those around him, absolutely, they lead the MAGA wing, too) while also minimizing his coverage to two things: the danger he poses and his role in breaking the GOP.

We try. But we’re not Whoopi Goldberg. We don’t have her platform, yet, nor do we have her judgment or talent. That’s okay. No one does. Whoopi is an original and that’s how she kneecapped Trump today while also diminishing him. Breathlessly.

“Yeah, he’s going to be there, but I don’t have to give him very much more air than saying, yeah, he’s there,” Goldberg said, “because as far as I’m concerned, I don’t want to talk about somebody who thinks I’m a nonstarter as a person, as a person of color. I don’t want to talk about a party that has decided that — they’re not concerned whether I’m uncomfortable with what they’re doing. They, you know, they voted that this is the direction they want to go in, so I’m not going to give them a lot of attention. I’ll keep my eye on them, but I don’t have to give them a lot of attention.”

She waves him off him as even a “person.” She calls him a racist. She puts Trump in the GOP’s lap. Says the GOP doesn’t care whether if they’re destroying the country and people like her. Notes that Trump, the GOP, and the GOP voter, are all to blame for him even being here and moving forward to destroy the country. Says they’re unworthy. But then says that he is dangerous enough that they need to be watched as a presence. And finishes it with the mic drop. She’s too disgusted at this point and walks away.

As we said, it’s a tough balance, but Whoopi can do it with ease in one clean paragraph. Stunning. We will try to be more like her, though we are one of the ones who must watch him closely.
