Angry Trump Releases Statement Calling Biden ‘Cruel and Heartless’ for Wanting to Help the Middle Class

Former President Donald Trump criticized President Joe Biden in a written statement Wednesday, claiming Biden’s plans to revitalize the nation’s infrastructure are an “attack on the American Dream,” according to Raw Story.

Perhaps this is just a feeble attempt by Trump to regain relevance again, but he’s attacking Biden for something he himself promised to do as president, but ultimately failed at.

“Joe Biden’s radical plan to implement the largest tax hike in American history is a massive giveaway to China, and many other countries, that will send thousands of factories, millions of jobs, and trillions of dollars to these competitive Nations,” wrote the ex-President. “The Biden plan will crush American workers and decimate U.S. manufacturing, while giving special tax privileges to outsourcers, foreign and giant multinational companies.”

Do you know what else has crushed American workers? Trump’s failure to do anything effective to keep people from losing their jobs, homes, and lives while the pandemic raged. But I’m guessing something like this isn’t on Trump’s radar.

And when he was running for president in 2016, Trump promised to implement expansive infrastructure programs. Did he do that? No. He failed at that just like he failed to build that infamous wall and failed to ameliorate the pandemic.

Indeed, Biden’s infrastructure plan is ambitious, and it complements the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan which was signed into law earlier this month. That plan is aimed at resurrecting the ailing economy from the ashes of the pandemic.

When he took office in January, Biden pledged he would pass a second bill aimed at improving the nation’s infrastructure and creating jobs and it’s been reported the measure will likely be divided up into two proposals costing a total of $3 trillion.

“We’ll use taxpayers’ dollars to rebuild America,” Biden said in a January speech that announced the two plans. “We’ll buy American products, supporting millions of American manufacturing jobs, enhancing our competitive in an increasingly competitive world.”

But Trump was in no mood to celebrate and he complained about proposed tax increases on the wealthy to pay for the infrastructure program, claiming it “is a strategy for total economic surrender.”

“Joe Biden’s cruel and heartless attack on the American Dream must never be allowed to become Federal Law,” he wrote. “Just like our southern border went from best to worst, and is now in shambles, our economy will be destroyed!”

The one thing that Trump doesn’t say, and that CBS News will have you know, is that Trump is the first president (since Herbert Hoover) to leave the country with fewer jobs than there were when he entered.

But that’s not all, per CBS News:

“Economists say Trump’s economic legacy will be defined by his failure in leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic that exacerbated the financial downturn, domestic policies that overwhelmingly benefited the wealthy, and international trade policies that hurt U.S. industry while simultaneously alienating allies.”

Clearly, Trump has no room to talk here. As far as the wealthy being taxed I say it’s time to return to doing just that. Rarely have they ever pulled their weight and that needs to change because too many other Americans have broken under the strain.

I’m not posting Trump’s statement here because I do not suffer fools gladly but should you wish to read it, you’ll find it here.
