Conservatives are Accusing Dr. Jill Biden of Giving Speech in Front of Nazi Flag
Whenever First Lady Jill Biden speaks, right-wingers on social media inevitably make comparisons between her and her predecessor, Melania Trump. Unsurprisingly, these comparisons are unflattering to Biden and supportive of Trump, but recently that’s all stirred up again after Dr. Biden gave a speech Wednesday, in California to mark Cesar Chavez Day. During her speech, Biden stood in front of a flag and that stirred up imaginations that are perhaps a bit too active.
Forbes reports that some of these feverish people believed the flag featured a “giant Nazi eagle” even though it’s actually the flag of the United Farm Workers (UFW) Union flag. The UFW was founded in 1962 and it is the country’s first permanent agricultural union.
The UFW is not in any way connected to the Nazis and it’s been reported that the flag was designed by Chavez’s cousin. But lots of social media users drew comparisons to flags flown by the Third Reich.
“Imagine if First Lady Melania Trump stood in front of this flag…,” noted ACT for America founder Brigitte Gabriel in a tweet.

Other users also decided to chime in.
Is Jill Biden standing in front of a derivative of the Nazi flag? Let’s get some fact checkers on that. https://t.co/SK2Aoy1UMn pic.twitter.com/oudOwG4tDq

Funny how these people didn’t say anything about Melania’s attire when she spoke at the Republican National Convention. Some on social media likened the olive green dress to a military uniform.
Why is Melania wearing a Brownshirt dress? Add a Trump armband & we’re there. pic.twitter.com/wJea6MLQFc

And more than a few folks on Twitter called Gabriel out on her foolishness.
The United Farmworkers flag? Um…yes, we'd probably all be in shock if she showed up to support them.

You got a problem with the United Farm Workers?

The Farm Workers union flag? It would be great if Republicans supported unions too. They keep claiming to be the party of the working man, but…

Imagine if she stood in front of the United Farm Workers flag. Imagine if she stood with farm workers, many of whom are immigrants. Imagine if she stood for the ideals of the founder of the union's predecessor Cesar Chavez, promoter of nonviolence resistance. Yes, imagine.

Dr. Biden also tripped over the Spanish phrase “Si Se Puede!” (Yes we can) and social media users were quick to criticize her, um, rather…interesting mispronunciation.
“It’s ‘Si se puede’ (Yes you/we can) not Si se pwadue’ I can’t even imagine what word she was trying to say. Seriously, why even try pandering if you’re going to butcher it and not practice before?!” said Joanna Rodriguez, a communications director for the Republican Governor’s Association.

Journalist Dania Alexandrino noted:
“Si se what???? I’m sure someone will surely tell Jill Biden ‘puadray’ is NOT a word in the Spanish dictionary. For those who are celebrating her effort, yeah NO! Very far from ‘Si se Puede’ which means ‘Yes (we) can.’ We in parentheses because it can also be yes you can!”

And once again, some drew comparisons between Jill Biden and Melania Trump.
The Twitter account AllegianeToLiberty noted, “Melania is fluent in Slovenian, French, German, Italian, and English. Jill Biden can’t even say one scripted line of Spanish without butchering it.”

Author Nick Adams also dissed Biden in favor of Trump.
“Watching Jill Biden botch basic Spanish makes me miss Melania Trump, an extraordinary First Lady who is fluent in five languages.”

But again I have to ask, where were some of these people when Melania allegedly plagiarized a speech by Michelle Obama? I have no doubt that Melania is intelligent, but so is Dr. Biden, and when she gave this speech, at least she was doing something original even if she did accidentally do a hatchet job on basic Spanish pronunciation.
