Social Media Disgusted by Caitlyn Jenner’s Run for California Governor: Says ‘No MAGA’ Then Hires Trumpy Team

Caitlyn Jenner has always made it clear that she’s a Republican and now she’s running for governor in California.  That’s going to be a little bit rough in California, which is now deep blue.

However, Gavin Newsom, the current governor, who was seen as a pillar of Democratic governors and even potential presidential candidates, has taken a huge hit due to COVID. The decisions regarding “how hard” a state fought the disease, or how a state “handled” the disease, were difficult. These decisions included lockdowns, business shutdowns, school shutdowns… it hit every governor hard because there were often no “good” answers. But California is less a state than it is its own country (Which would be the seventh biggest, economically, in the world if it was its own nation). Newsome had a hard to keeping everyone in that country together and on the same page. For the first time, Newsom is exposed and a Republican has a chance.

But in California, it cannot be a MAGA Republican. And as much as Caitlyn has tried to make it clear that she is not some MAGA Trump follower, she now has a bit of a problem. If she is so “NOT MAGA” then why is she surrounded by Trump people, including some that seem to have been good to Russians?

She’s assembled a team of prominent GOP operatives including Tony Fabrizio, the top pollster on Donald Trump’s 2016 and 2020 campaigns, Ryan Erwin, founder of RedRock Strategies, and Tyler Deaton, president of Allegiance Strategies.

Trump’s former campaign manager Brad Parscale, a personal friend of Jenner’s, has helped her assemble her team but doesn’t plan to take an official title on the campaign. 

Of course, there is the element that Jenner would be the first trans-American governor and some are writing extensively on that aspect. We are not. We want the Trans issue normalized to the point that it’s almost not worth mention. She is who she is, no more no less.

We are far more interested in how much she will transition to MAGA Republican if she sees a need.
