Trump Suggests in Very Bizarre, Slurry Interview That Biden Isn’t the One Making Decisions

Newsmax is known for some pretty questionable news coverage, but when former President Donald Trump called in for a lengthy interview with Newsmax [1] host Heather Childers, the situation went from questionable to bonkers. Especially after Childers asked Trump if he thought his successor, President Joe Biden was being effective at his job, then sidling in with the ominous suggestion that perhaps someone else was at the helm of the nation, Mediaite [2] reports.

Indeed, Childers just couldn’t seem to resist asking Trump about Biden’s health.

“I hope he’s well,” Trump said, then getting in a dig at Biden by saying he is not respected by foreign leaders.

I guess Trump has forgotten German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron, among others, don’t exactly regard him [3] with fondness.

That aside, Childers was really persistent in wanting to know about Biden’s health.

“Do you think he is capable of doing the job, from what you’ve seen?” she asked. “I mean, you had to do the job. You’re working 24 hours a day, people would actually laugh about the fact that you rarely seemed to be ever sleeping, but it does take that kind of initiative and drive to do the job.”

“Do you think he is up for it, or do you think someone else is doing the job right now?” she said.

“Well it does take that kind of drive, and it takes tremendous strength and enthusiasm and everything you can imagine,” said Trump, who was notably criticized for the amount of time he spent watching cable news, tweeting, and golfing (nearly [4] a whole frigging year — 307 days during his presidency). “It’s 50 hours a day (yeah, right) and you understand what I mean by that.”

“It’s a lot of work, and I think other people are making most of the decisions but I may be wrong about that, I don’t know,” Trump added. “I don’t really know him very well, but to be honest with you, somebody’s making decisions.”

Trump can talk about this all he wants but the fact is the Biden administration has taken an aggressive stance regarding coronavirus vaccinations, with [5] 150 million Americans receiving the crucial vaccinations and Biden has set a goal of 200 million vaccinations within his first 100 days in office. The Biden administration is also promoting [6] an ambitious infrastructure plan that of course, doesn’t have GOP support because it calls for an increased corporate tax rate among things but both of these things are a durned sight more than Trump managed to do when was in office.

But here’s what else is clear: You can always rely on Newsmax to be unintentionally hilarious.
