Watch Jen Psaki Get Sarcastic and Tease Newsmax Reporter Who Asks About a ‘Secret Memo’

Do not do this.

Do not try to get one over on Jen Psaki in the press room and especially don’t try to get one over on a subject that Psaki cannot stand, which is the “people are saying” thing, or anything else involving any allegation about anything said by anyone that you aren’t prepared to name. If you want Jen Psaki to give you the White House’s opinion about a topic, or response to a topic, it’s best to be as specific as possible or it will end up very bad for you.

Jen Psaki continues to demonstrate that she’s not going to be used by right-wing mouthpieces trying to cross-examine her with gotcha questions already shaded by a political agenda. The far right loves the idea of using nebulous beliefs held by their audience as the predicate to a question. Watch how Newsmax’s John Gizzi tries to establish a false fact, that the infrastructure bill is way overpriced, there’s a memo out there that says it’s way overpriced.

“The other thing on the infrastructure package, there is a private memo that’s being circulated in the business community and to some Republican senators that said that the $2.25 trillion price tag is $1 trillion off. And that there’s many things in there that were omitted in the initial discussion of the bill.”

“This is being circulated on the Hill, do you have any response to the charge that the president low-balled the price tag on the infrastructure bill?

Now see? You cannot do that, everyone duck:

Boom: Sounds mysterious, the memo — the secret memo.

Right about there, Gizzi knew Jen devoured his question like it was a hamburger. Gizzi may or may not know that it can always get worse, and it did, because she’s Jen Psaki and John Gizzi really is not:

We laid out very specifically each component of the package and how much we’re proposing, so I’d encourage y’all to get your calculators out and charge that up and see how it compares to the secret memo.

Oh, no she didn’t? Yes, she did. And that is why you do not bring your shit into her house and ask Psaki to comment on something she doesn’t know a thing about. You will get fed to fish. Watch:

Damn.

****
Peace, y’all
