Conservatives Going Nuts Over Kamala Harris’s Tweet, With Nikki Haley Saying She’s Unfit for Office
Vice President Kamala Harris put out a tweet the last Friday. She wished everyone a happy long weekend without mentioning that it was Memorial Day. It was bad that she didn’t include something about the purpose of Memorial Day. She made a mistake. (Many more including Haley, Fox Outrage):
Enjoy the long weekend. pic.twitter.com/ilGOrod4AW

That isn’t ideal. Given another shot, the Vice President of the country should have mentioned that it was Memorial Day and we have a “long weekend” because it is dedicated to those who lost their lives in preserving our freedoms around the world.
But if one listened to the paroxysms from the Right, one would think that Harris directly insulted the military just as a certain senator (Ted Cruz) did just recently. The tweet certainly does not render the Vice President “unfit” for office, as described by Nikki Haley:
Unprofessional and unfit. https://t.co/XuMo7W5i6d

Oh, shut up. Several people on Twitter immediately pointed to Haley’s obvious hypocrisy. Haley complained about spending her Fourth of July working while blaming it on North Korea. The problem is that she was the United States Ambassador to the United Nations at the time and one would think that sacrificing a few holidays went with the job. Moreover, she didn’t mention anything special about the day, only that she had to work:
Nikki Haley tweeted her complaints about having to work during a holiday weekend when North Korea test launched an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of striking Alaska.… She was Ambassador to the UN at the time. 💁♀️ https://t.co/87BYWT7A5a pic.twitter.com/q42ZreWJIF

So we would think that Haley doesn’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to tweets. At least Vice President Harris’s tweet wasn’t entirely self-centered. Nikki Haley focused solely upon her loss.
Steve Schmidt set forth how ridiculous the entire “controversy” had become and traced it back to its source, the source of just about all faux conservative outrage:
case study. It does seem like perfect evidence around the enduring insight, apocryphally credited to Upton Sinclair, that when “fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross”. The only outrage about @VP wishing Americans a good long 2/

And with that, the internet went unglued:
Who is Nikki Haley again? A traitorous has been politician who talks out of both sides of her mouth depending on the weather? Another hack who just needs to STFU.

No @NikkiHaley, your fake controversy ignores reality. Unprofessional & Unfit is "GRAB THEM BY THE PU-SY" and this guys assault on our flag. I might also add support of the White Supremacists who desecrated our flag on January 6th. Your support of your former boss is unfit. https://t.co/zIbOFdPXVf pic.twitter.com/MTANWOs7eI

Remember when I called our troops "losers and suckers"? Were you OK with that? What is wrong with you, Nikki? Are you sick? People are saying you are sick. In the head. Like really screwed up. Are you OK? https://t.co/GJf0P7RD2v

I’ll leave this right here, you vacuous and disingenuous POS. https://t.co/FdPnRiM7Qe pic.twitter.com/eGI6krE2Lc

And we will leave it with the above tweet, too, because it is simply perfect when talking about unfit to lead.
