Marj Goes Too Far: Rep. Greene Roundly Criticized for Comparing House Mask Policy to Holocaust
We are far enough along in time now that there are virtually none, or no Holocaust survivors still alive, and we’re even losing some of the next generation, the kids and nieces and nephews. But the whole point of “Never Forget” is that history never forgets. We don’t need eyewitnesses or family members to tell us about the horror of Nazi Germany. We study, read, set up memorial museums, and more. And when an American politician says that rules pertaining to vaccines and masks are akin to the abuses that occurred in Nazi Germany, it is incumbent upon us to “Never Forget” and yell in rage. It is repugnant enough that it should cost Marjorie Taylor-Greene her job. It is not her first offense.
She didn’t misstate her point. She originally said that she and other Republicans are bring treated as second-class citizens, and when we look back in history to the Jews in Germany, they were treated as second-class citizens and were hauled off to gas chambers and this is exactly the type of abuse Nancy Pelosi is talking about.
She also said that Nancy Pelosi is mentally ill and “the Queen of the House.”
As if that were not bad enough, Marj made her disgusting statements on the Christian Broadcasting Network, with their most esteemed host, David Brody, who did nothing but nod along.
The incident has a large segment of the country wondering whether Marj found a way to get herself expelled from the Republican party. The statement is below and we’ll have follow up comments:
MTG says Speaker Pelosi wanting Members of Congress to get vaccinated and if not to wear masks is “exactly the type of abuse” as murdering Jews in gas chambers during the Holocaust and David Brody nods along. No follow up. pic.twitter.com/inXfD8UBiG

Predictably, and somewhat tellingly, Liz Cheney was one of the first to call the statement out. Perhaps there is a lesson in there somewhere, given her strong conservatism:

Hey Marjorie Taylor Greene…
COVID restrictions ARE NOT like gold stars & gas chambers in Nazi Germany!
My 95-year-old grandmother can tell you what the Holocaust was REALLY like: Nazis killed her parents, all 6 siblings & all extended family.

This is the type of pushback that is most effective but it is not needed. The world promised to “never forget.” Comparing the situations is akin to spitting on the memory of those lost.

Read both of the below:
Interesting take from Marjorie Taylor Greene, comparing Covid restrictions to Nazi Germany, since she SUPPORTS Nazi Germany. Maybe she's cool with the restrictions. 🤷♂️ pic.twitter.com/feM6grTHS5

MTG ranted against masks …. comparing it to an « Auschwitz « behaviour…
I guess if Marjorie Taylor Greene and the Reporter had lived in the 1940s they would have been on the side of the NAZIs…
The Big Lie is a NAZI’s concept…

"I think any rational Jewish person didn't like what happened in Nazi Germany & any rational Jewish person doesn't like what's happening with overbearing mask mandates."
I asked Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene about her comment comparing mask mandates to the Holocaust @12News pic.twitter.com/8SVljeXjSM

Speaking of fellow racists and Nazi sympathizers:

And, this will be discussed. It just happened to be a Friday night and now a long weekend coming, it won’t be addressed right away, if at all:
I read the Marjorie Taylor Greene comments last night and figured by this morning there’d be statements by McCarthy and the GOP leadership that she was expelled from the Conference and they would oppose her re-election, disinvitations to speeches, calls to resign, etc. Are there?
