Marjorie Taylor Greene Uses Mexican Accent as a Slur Against Immigrants and It’s as Horrible as You’d Think

Today, we already reported that we are committed to keeping an eye on Marjorie Taylor Greene. We consider her our canary in the coal mine. It is a bad analogy because it’s not a perfect fit. She represents the next stage MAGAs. Her approach and her disrespect for the process, while also accepting Donald Trump as some higher power to which the MAGA party must bow, looks like the direction the current GOP pols have to take. Increasing, unthinking, totally loyal to Trump. If MTG is ever cut down, then the MAGA movement might meet up against limits. Meanwhile, the new 2022 MAGA crop, the MAGAs motivated to run in 2022 on behalf of Trump and “The Big Lie,” have to be more extreme than Marj. They have to be fresh and newsworthy.

Thus, we watch her closely.

Lately, Marj has focused almost exclusively on the comparisons between having to wear a mask on the House floor and the pressure to get vaccinated as being akin to the treatment of the Jews in Nazi Germany. The comparison is so offensive that some expected her to be expelled from the GOP. Of course, she wasn’t. She is a made MAGA and she represents the type Trump wants in the party, 100% loyal and unthinking. The Nazi comparisons are fine.

But on Thursday night Greene took a bit of a break from her Nazi comparisons to complain about the situation on the border. The issue is serious enough that Marj decided to pull out a fake Mexican accent to make her point. There are few ways to make a more disgusting slur, but Marj is entirely comfortable with it. From UP:

They’re in the business of helping the cartels! The cartels love the Democrats.”

And then, just as she does with Nazis, she suggested that these drug cartels are working alongside Democrats:

“Yeah, they’re down there like this: ‘We’re makin’ a lot of money off of Biden. Joe Biden!’ That’s my really bad Mexican accent.”

It was… not good. But even if she could do a “good” Mexican accent, in this context, it would be just as offensive. Her words alone were as offensive as her attempt to mock Mexicans and immigrants (they are not one and the same, even though Marj equates the two.)

This is the direction of the MAGA wing of the GOP and the GOP itself is being dragged further down this hall of horrors.
