Marco Rubio Suggests Biden Committed an Impeachable Offense — It Doesn’t Go Very Well for Him

We have written repeatedly (along with many others) that if the MAGAs regain the House of Representatives in 2022, they will impeach Joe Biden two to four times on basic principles. Indeed, they’ve already openly discussed drafting Trump as Speaker of the House for the very purpose of impeaching members Biden and the cabinet. They will find a crime later, that’s not important. The only important thing is to punish Democrats for having the audacity to impeach the MAGA hero.

To that end, Marco Rubio might have let slip one angle to the inevitable.

Go right back to Ukraine and withholding funds. It doesn’t make any sense in context, there’s no “I need you to do me a favor, though.” But again, that’s meaningless: Marco tweeted: “Remember when freezing military aid to Ukraine was an impeachable offense?”

Yes, well, up with that, Psaki would not put and she let Marco have it:

The idea that we have held back security assistance to Ukraine is nonsense. Just last week—in the run-up to the U.S.–Russia Summit—we provided a $150 million package of security assistance, including lethal assistance. We have now provided the entire amount appropriated by Congress through the Ukraine security assistance initiative.

Two days before the Summit, President Biden stood on the stage before the entire world at NATO and said that we would keep putting Ukraine “in the position to be able to continue to resist Russian physical aggression. We have also prepared contingency funds in the event of a further Russian incursion into Ukraine. As President Biden told President Putin directly, we will stand unwavering in support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

So on the persuasiveness scale, Psaki blows little Marco away. Additionally, she took care of any assertion that the Biden administration committed some kind of crime.

But none of that will stop Marco. He faces an election in 2022 and Val Demmings, who shot to stardom in the Trump impeachment trial is a legitimate challenger (to the extent Democrats can challenge in Florida, where things seem to fall mysteriously into place for Republicans.) Thus we can expect more and more statements from Marco before he inevitably steps on the rake, Marco’s greatest talen.

We suspect Psaki will be able to take care of herself just fine.
