Meghan McCain and Whoopi Goldberg Get in a Shockingly Ugly Fight on The View

The View began with normal discussion… at least.

The “A Block,” or the first segment began with the hosts all discussing the summit, mostly giving high marks to Joe Biden and his handling of Putin. They also talked about Biden’s heated words with Kaitlin Collins and then the subsequent apology. That was the beginning.

McCain first praised ABC’s Rachel Scott, who asked Putin the shockingly blunt question regarding why Putin was so afraid of opposition. But McCain swiveled fast:

Just because Trump was so bad, it doesn’t absolve Biden’s bad behavior. What he just did was 100 percent Trumpy. I would just like a little intellectual consistency. If Trump had done that, we would be screaming at the top of our lungs one way or another. I just think that I have heard many people in this town, in D.C., talking that the press is getting sick of this. Of how censored he is, who he can and cannot talk to, and then spouting off to her in a way that I found not only unbecoming and ridiculous, but to do it in a foreign country, it was particularly bizarre.

This is, of course, is bizarre itself, Meghan. Had Trump done the above it would be chalked up as “normal” and no one would’ve noticed anything. Biden also apologized afterward. There were big differences between the two. Additionally, we should note – again – that McCain may hate Trump personally, but she is 100% MAGA and always will be.

But it was at that point where Whoopi and McCain decided to get it on, according to Mediaite:

McCain went on to say Biden has mostly gotten a “pass” from the media so far, and that “it’s in no one’s best interest to treat him like it’s state TV.” Goldberg interjected to say that unlike Biden, she never saw Trump apologize for any of his behavior, but McCain continued to say that “with all due respect, I don’t care if he’s apologizing. He just embarrassed himself.

“I don’t care that you don’t care!” Goldberg shot back. The segment went swiftly downhill from there, and Goldberg threw to commercials as she told McCain “you can be how you always are!”

Whoopi sort of had every right to jump at McCain because she’s being just so disingenuous. No one is treating Biden like “State TV,” as Kaitlin proved just yesterday. The difference is that Biden isn’t lying all the time. Thus, there are fewer tough questions like “Why are you lying about this?” Additionally, yes, if one antagonizes the media enough, some will eventually take it personally and start to fire back. That will happen at times. Trump knew it, that’s what he wanted.

This fight was a bit uglier than most, more than a bit.
