Democrats May Use US Marshalls to Arrest Trump Alums Who Ignore Subpoenas

The Democrats are not playing the former Trump administration aides’ game this time. Perhaps Trump’s people got a little too used to blowing Congress off without fear. Doing so this time would be a mistake. This time, with Democrats in charge of both the House and DOJ, there will be consequences for ignoring a subpoena.

According to Rep. Stephanie Murphy, a Democrat from Florida who appeared on Morning Joe on Wednesday morning:

I want to know how much planning was involved, who was involved in the planning, who funded it, how they — what their intent was when they came into that day, and then what they knew as that day unfolded and the safety and security of people like the vice president and members of Congress were at risk, [and] what they did, either to respond or not respond on that occasion.

This. This. This. How much planning was involved and who was involved with the planning. Two of the key witnesses would be Bannon and Meadows who were thick inside both. To the extent there was centralized planning, it might be the single most salient fact that can be discerned at this point.

We were told this was a protest that got out of hand. We know this is not true. We must get at the truth.

“We have engaged with a wide variety of law enforcement offices, including the U.S. Marshals, in order to issue the subpoenas,” Murphy said. “We will use everything, as you said, with all due respect, we will use all of the agencies and all of the tools at our disposal to issue the subpoenas and enforce them.

Much of the enforcement will go through DOJ because DOJ controls so many of the law enforcement agencies outside of Homeland security.

This promises to be far more interesting, but more importantly, far more informative, than any investigation in the last five years. So far, it seems as though the former Trumpers simply don’t get it.
