Log Cabin Republicans Release Insane Melania Video That You Have to See to Believe

After awarding Melania Trump with the Spirit of Lincoln Award this past weekend for her “dedication” to LGBT republicans, the Log Cabin Republicans (LCR) have gone one step further and released a video praising her on social media. In the video they claim that they are, “not sure where she got her passion for equality, but it was there.”

The LCR, a LGBTQ republican group, added that, “Melania Trump’s acceptance to be the guest of honor at the Spirit of Lincoln Gala even after she has left the White House only reaffirms her unwavering support for the LGBT community.” Their use of the word “unwavering” seems a little lenient, with only a few pro-LGBT moments to cite during Melania’s time as First Lady, and none that are extraordinarily powerful.

Of these moments, they brought up a video she made last year falsely claiming that her husband supported equality for LGBT Americans despite his verbal attacks on the community and proposed bills that would have done harm to LGBT Americans. Yet, in the eyes of the LCR, “the First Lady passionately reiterated her husband’s commitment to LGBT Americans, supported diversity of thought, and made clear that we are welcome members of the Republican Party.”

Apparently, the LCR prefers words over actions. They seem to forget all too easily when Donald Trump tried to pass legislation forcing transgender individuals to use the incorrect bathrooms. Although, his words aren’t much better than his actions, anyway. GLAAD, another LGBT advocacy organization, has kept a list of over 180 attacks Trump has made against the gay community.

Despite this, Melania Trump did indeed make a video last year during the presidential election in which she criticized those who said her husband was anti-gay, and insisted that he treats all gay and lesbian individuals as equals. If creating videos with flat out lies is what the LCR considers gay advocacy, then it’s anyones guess who will be receiving the Spirit of Lincoln Award next year.

And what in the world is Nic Grenell wearing?
